Through art, music, children’s activities, a 5K and Tour of Homes, the Spring Fling Festival showcases the many reasons why Kirkwood’s residents love living in our neighborhood. The festival takes place in Bessie Branham Park, 2051 Delano Drive NE, 30317.

Admission to the festival is free. BBQ is $5 a fork, and Tour of Homes tickets are $20.

History

The first Spring Fling in 2002 was originally a social event sponsored by the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization.  Activities included a picnic and softball game at the current festival location, Bessie Branham Park. These activities were the foundation for the Spring Fling festivities for a number of years.

In 2005, the neighbors wanted to rebuild the Bessie Branham playground. In a fundraising effort, the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization voted to change the traditional Spring Fling to the current format of the festival to raise funds for the project and to utilize it going forward as a revenue source for the community. The board also added the Tour of Homes to show off our unique architecture and history.
